Field Representative Engineer
On-site - Suffolk, VA

We are looking for an individual to join our team working on a full-time program with a large Federal client. This is a great role for someone who loves to be on the go and is looking to expand their networking skillset!
Job description:
- US citizens only, no GCH or visas.
- Work onsite 5 days a week collocated with the end users.
- Maintain servers on multiple classifications and networks to support end user accessibility during military exercises as an onsite Field Service Engineer at Joint Staff J7 in Suffolk, Virginia.
- Facilitate usage of a simulation system and integrate with external systems for data ingest during events.
- Be proficient supporting a distributed LINUX server and Database environment - Virtual and Physical.
- Problem solve complex IT issues and take initiative to recommend and implement solutions.
- Interact and collaborate with government, civilians, active-duty members, and contractors representing the client on a daily basis.
- Provide occasional training support
- Low potential for occasional travel
- Hours will flex based on exercise schedule and this position will involve occasional long hour days and weekend shifts
Minimum Skills:
- 5+ years experience with supporting Linux operating systems and network systems
- Some exposure to military exercise support process and lifecycle
- 1+ years working with and understanding TCP/IP networking, including addressing, sub-netting, routing, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Must have a Security+ certification
- An active Secret clearance in DISS is required to start
- Must have a valid passport
Preferred Skill:
- Experience supporting field operations, medical, joint exercises, and DoD medical planning and execution
- Familiarity with DoD medical systems such as TRAC2ES, TMDS, JMAR, CAREPOINT
- Exceptional communication skills and high comfort level with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
- Positive attitude and user support oriented, willing to teach and advise on technical and functional issues
- Functions well in a dynamic environment and comfortable responding to short notice operational requirements
- Comfortable collecting requirements and providing 1-on-1 and small group training sessions.
- Experience working with a Common Operating Picture (COP)
- BS in Computer Science or related field.
